an abstract
formed from
the iridescent
vacuum time
leaves behind
the trail of
past present
future
a chorus
descant
discordant
with no
meaning but
being
a cloud of
inconsequence
over the sun
shadow
harbinger
omen
untouchable
strange
a mirage
all along

Last night’s Strictly Ballroom show at the Theatre Royal was great. Except for the audience which, in parts, indulged in the facile behaviour the English are so good at – clapping out of time, treating everything like a pantomime, singing along, bouncing around in their seats and making the whole row quake, etc etc. Sheeple. Tiresome people, the ones who indulge in this behaviour. No excuse. Just goes to show why Brexit has happened. But the dancing was great, and the paso doble scene moved me to tears, as it does in the film. Oh, there were also some especially benighted folk there who muttered that “apparently there’s a film as well.” My God.
