Dissent

I have now caught up on writing to all the #MastoPrompts I missed either through being away or being too busy or feeling under the weather. I have yet to decide if I will post them all here, but I will certainly tomorrow make sure they all go up on my Mastodon account.

Here’s just the most recent, today’s.

Dissent

Diplomacy is so often the excuse
For inaction, for just sitting back
To allow history to take its course
Without trying to change it, a
Cloud of words, a flurry of meaningless
Meeting, soundbites, interviews,
Suits pretending importance and
Wisdom and statecraft in a world
Where dissent will soon be forbidden,
A global agreement to shut down
The law and what it’s meant to
Uphold. And those who predicted this
Catastrophe were mocked as extremists,
As doomsayers, like all prophets are
Strangers in their own countries, and
Abandoned to the wolves of the state.
