#NewMusicFriday 19/07/2024
I must admit to having been utterly exhausted and frazzled by the time I got on air on Friday morning. Add to this Marty’s concern and mine that the global IT outage might affect all our playout systems, and some of me was wishing I hadn’t agreed to doing the show. Phone sound on, as I was expecting to need to multi-task and needed in-my-face notifications despite having the cans on.
Oddly enough (actually unsurprisingly) a kind of calm took me over the minute I pushed the button on the lead-in jingle, and the connecting to the server went more smoothly than last week (rediscovered routines and timing, I suppose). The only mistake I’d made was to forget to cue my NewMusicFriday jingle, but made up for that by playing it after the first track. Anyway, enough chatter. Here are those tracks:
Paper Anthem – Speed Trap
Moodymoody – Feels Like This
The Pursuit Of Pleasure – Lived A Life
Jekyll – Divine Standards

And there you have it. I probably say that every week. So much good music, especially in 3 hours, which makes this post a touch of an ordeal, but it’s gladly done. Music is the most important thing in our lives – all arts are, really. Don’t limit yourselves by genre. Now go stream the hell out of these brilliant people who make music.
