So I decided to support M in her couch to 5k efforts, because that’s what life partners do – support each other. Two runs later: shin splints and a dreadful cold. But at least she’s on the path, and she doesn’t feel embarrassed about pounding the pavements (although it has to be said that ALL the pavements in Norwich are in dreadful condition and not level at all whatsoever). And I’m embarrassed because in all my years of running too much I never got shin splints. Looking after my back was obviously not the only reason for giving up running almost 6 years ago. I’ll stick to walking 3 miles a day, though I’m not sure when I’ll be able to attempt that again seriously (but will keep doing gentle walks so I don’t lose the streak that’s well over 2k days now).

It was a bit of an effort to stand for 70 minutes to record the show, but it was gladly done, especially with these fabulous tunes blasting out of my cans:

Heff VanSaint – Weavers Fields
Wildlings – Sugar
Jimmy Andrex – adultification
Pet Twin – You’re Turning Into It
bleach. – House of Cards
Desire Machines – Until The End Of Time
Alexandra Leaving – Out Of This World
Deaf Squad x Thryn – Glitch (Take Me With You)
The Garnetts – Never Going Back Again
Placebo – Bigmouth Strikes Again (1996)
Megan Walker – It’s A Cult
Start To Run – Our Love
TheStudio68! – That’s The Way It Is
Freak Slug – Spells
Ada – Oekseskaft
The Cure – Alone

I couldn’t not play the new track by The Cure; 6 minutes and 48 seconds of hope, despair and aging. Can’t wait for the album, though I don’t think the band are struggling for streams. Unlike the other artists featured this week. Go play them all. And even if you don’t buy, at least heart their tracks.
