Filoxenia is Greek for hospitality,
And the word xenophile doesn’t
Exist in the language the English
Robbed of its meanings as well as
Stealing its country’s treasures.

The English-speaking world is now
Dominated by xenophobes who would
Not speak a foreign language even if
They had the intelligence to, dog-whistle
Politics lying about the common good.

People are being disappeared in the
Name of national security, borders
Made where none should exist,
And walls rise where there should be
Bridges for cultures to intermingle.
