Conventional wisdom – there is
No such thing, wisdom coming
From the extraordinary –
Holds that there is a season
For everything, and all
That needs to be done
Is wait.

Similarly, everything happens
For a reason, the same
Discredited wisdom goes,
Inspiring generations to do
Nothing but wait and hope.
The drought will not kill
Your livestock, plants, or you.

But it does.

This is a barren time.
Not just a lack of rain,
A lack of
Caring,
Peace,
Understanding,
Kindness,
Love.

No reasons.
No seasons.
No cycle.
