Right now, when the real world and
All the worlds he has created begin to collide
And intertwine, he no longer has the will
To distinguish between what’s fact and
What’s invented, where lie mingles with
Truth, and the broad bright palette of
Woven colours smears into a grey sludge
Of unintended consequences, pains,
And adverse reactions.

The artificial fibres of this world tangle,
And there’s no escape from the web he
Has made, and, sticky as a spider’s strands,
It tightens and strangles and envelopes
Him until he can no longer breathe, nor
Find the core of truth buried at the centre
Of the maze he’s forgotten the way out of.
