Satire Is Dead

We live in an age where there
Are two openly fascist countries
In this world, one of which
Was decimated by fascism
In World War Two,
The other of which fought it.

There is no irony here, where
Democracies which protected
The world from evil are now
Collapsing into that evil
Themselves, led by
Blindness and corruption.

Word twisters.
Ethnic cleansers.
Killers.
Starvers.
War criminals.
Men.

Satire is dead when fact is
Satire already, without the
Attendant laughter. Fear is
The emotion now in the
Hungry and dusty
Capitals of these wars.
