Two poems
Yesterday I ran out of time to put up yesterday’s #MastoPrompt poem, so here are yesterday’s and today’s in one post.
God
The fingers that reach into his brain
Are long and fine and tender, strong
And flexible, tendons reaching up through
Her wrists into the muscles of her arms
As they move, in a blur, through the network
Of his synapses, a wire shifted here and there,
Minute filaments added to change him for
The better. She smiles into his open eyes,
And delves deeper and further into him,
The red dripping from her fingertips onto his
Face. She closes his head, kisses his eyes.
God Version 1.0 has been augmented
For the improved performance she requires.

Wrath
Today,
Below the motionless sky,
The ether is trapped,
Drained of its energy,
Its mystic power.
Time drains away,
Out of the invisible layer
This part of the world is,
And the land lies helpless
Around the crust of the planet.
Age speeds up, seconds eaten away
In their billions by the hungry sky.
The animal the ether is
Writhes and twists and twitches
And can’t escape the bonds
The clouds have wrapped it in.
These visible strands of time
Passing from earth through ether
To heaven leave a skeletal globe
Rotting under the wrath
Of the universe.
