We have grown older without noting
The time gone, but, like ex First Violins
With the Philharmonic, we’re afraid now
To take our instruments from their cases
To play them or have them played, and
Hide our wanting bodies under layers of
Clothes and blankets, even at night, so
We can’t see eachother or ourselves
Any more, to save being embarrassed,
To save us from shame, when all we
Really want is to touch and be touched.
