Gargantuan

The scale of the lie doesn’t
Bear comparison. Hundreds of
Thousands of dead litter the books
History writes. Those glorious
Wars didn’t happen; they were
All vanity and preening, the
Transmission into rot and
Jelly of the living, just for
A few yards, words and pride.

The epidemics of our modern days
Are gargantuan in their extension of
These mismatched promises and
Pretences. Men with fluffy hair
And unkempt minds and the
Sole aim of eradicating the poor
And the lonely for the sake of what?
