Great Britain

This is what Britain has become,
Mired in 3 months of rain,
With no promise of an end to it.

There is no saying that the gods
Are not involved in this, in their
Despair at the shallowness of
Men and women who forget
The meaning of their births.

There is no saying that nature
Is not involved in this, in its
Struggle to stay alive under
The feet of those who would
Slay it with toxic plastic fumes.

There is no saying that the people
Are not involved in this, with their
Lack of opportunities, their loss
Of education and open minds,
To close their eyes to true lies.

This is what Britain has become,
Mired in a past of no promise,
And a future with no redemption.
